I wish I had a longer and better clip to show you, but this is all that YouTube has to offer from this fantastically gritty and violent crime drama.

Let's see... there have been, I think, 4 so far... each done in 2 parts. Starring Ken Stott, who is one of my favourite actors (very under-rated in my opinion) as D.C.I. Red Metcalfe. You've got to wonder how the writer of this drama manages to come up with the really horrifying and brutal stuff that goes on, but it does make for real edge-of-your-seat viewing. I'm not normally into blood and guts and gore, but the writer really gets a grip of you and just doesn't let go.

Why Should You Watch This?: Dark, grizzly, well-written and acted, it grabs you by the throat and takes you on a journey into Hell (literally, in the 4th one). Just don't eat when it's on, and have a cushion at hand for the graphic bits!
