Go To Hell...

Go Directly To Hell, Do Not Pass "Go", Do Not Seek Salvation...

Yes - That is my fate, I have decided.

Can't say too much about the wheres and whens, in case anyone who knows me reads this and susses out where I'm talking about, but I found a piece of paper with "Bank of Scotland" and a denomination 1 more than 9 and 1 less than 11 printed on it today - and didn't say anything to the person in whose prescence I found it... Instead, I kept quiet, bade my time... and then sneaked it into my pooch.

I didn't directly steal it - it was left behind by someone (I have no idea who, but probably was someone who'd been out on the piss - and if you do that on a Tuesday night, you can probably afford to lose £10)... and it was probably untraceable as it was somewhere that has a reasonably high level of traffic.

However, I was very close to saying "Oh, someone's lost a tenner", when I heard a little voice within say "Shush! Don't say anything... just play it cool..."

And I'll just state - It wasn't anything to do with work!

  1. Dunno how serious you were, Ally... but I can assure you, you won't got to hell for pocketing a Tenner! :)

  2. That's good to know, Nev!

I always remember if we found money when we were kids having to hand it in to the police (£10 being worth a lot more in the middle ages) in case "it belongs to a poor old pensioner and that's her last £10 til pension day... and she starves because she's got no money to buy tatties and mince".

    Ah, good old guilt!

  3. lol, reminds me of the time I saw a tenner under someones car, can't remember where it was, but I did exactly the same thing. I'm pretty sure most people would do the same if I'd been the one to drop it.
