I Know A Song That'll Get On Your Nerves...
A new and occasional series in the music posts... the idea just popped into my head as I was watching VH1 Classic at my brother's tonight.
These are the songs that should come with a Government Health Warning - the songs that infiltrate your brain when you hear them, and you're left humming the damned things for hours afterwards!
First, a warning... please, don't feel under any pressure to actually watch the videos. If you do, however, I disclaim any responsibility for you spending the rest of the day annoying the hell out of yourself and others around you by singing them.
The song that inspired this (C&C Music Factory, "Things That Make You Go Hmm") isn't on YouTube, so let's go for the one that Flunky was singing earlier, and I was humming half the afternoon... Perry bloody Como and "Magic Moments"...

The last line of the song is: "Magic moments, filled with love...." I've had this stupid, insipid song on my mind too!! The way I get rid of it - well, one way - is to change the lyrics; ie, "Magic Moments, Filled With Blood...." THEN you can change it to MJ's "Blood on the Dance Floor" - then, "I wanna ROCK with you; all night -" then "Keep on ROCKIN' me baby!.." then "Baby, baby, I'm TAKEn with the notion..." - then - "So TAKE these Broken Wings! And learn to FLY again, and learn to live so free -" - or - "FLY like an eagle, to the sea..." until you find another song that suits you better! :)
