Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 36

"The Potion" - an episode from 80's classic childrens' TV programme, "Willo The Wisp"...

Wonderfully voiced by the late great Kenneth Williams.

I loved Mavis Cruet!

Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 35

A memory from childhood again. I remember watching "The Incredible Hulk" with my brothers (I'm sure I remember them both doing this to me), and the moment when he turned green (the Hulk, not my brothers) really scared me, so I'd dash out the living room door. Then I'd stand outside shouting "Is he back yet? Is he back yet?" - and they would say "Yes. It's over."

Then I would come in, and he'd still be wild and green... so I'd squeal and run out again!

Here's a change, or Hulkout (as they seem to be referred to!)...

Tagline/Quote: "Don't make me angry... You wouldn't like me when I'm angry"

This started in 1978, so I'd have been 5 when the Hulk first appeared. And the above tale was by no means all the torment I received at the hands of my brothers, trust me!

Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 32 (?)

Inspired by the current M&S advert for childrens clothes - The opening credits from "The Monkees"

And "I'm A Believer"...

I used to love watching re-runs of this when I was wee!

IMDb page here:
www.imdb.com/title/tt0060010/

Another thing that brought this to mind is the fact that there's a kind of retrospective programme going to be on telly on Sunday... I don't think I'll watch it though, because it's kind of "warts 'n' all", all about fights and fallings out and how Mike Nesmith wasn't hired for any musical talent and didn't really play on any of their stuff. I think I'll stick to my memories... sometimes it's good to keep on the rose-tinted glasses, don't ya think?

Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 28

Statler & Waldorf compilation from "The Muppet Show" - Along with The Swedish Chef (Hurdy, burdy, gurdy), and Beaker, they were my favourite characters...

I used to love watching this... seeing all the big stars joining in and merrily being sent up by a bunch of puppets!

It's time to play the music,
It's time to light the lights,
It's time to meet the Muppets,
On The Muppet Show tonight!

Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 25

End theme from "Rentaghost" - I used to love this programme... especially the theme tune...

Kids' TV really WAS much better when we were young, wasn't it?

Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 18 (I think, I'm beginning to lose count)

An episode of possibly my second favourite kids programme when I was wee (behind "Chorlton & The Wheelies") - "The Magic Roundabout"

I remember having a real panic attack one day when I was yo-high because the TV repair man was along fixing the TV, and I was desperate for him to get it working before Dougal came on!

"Fruit Party"...

What was good about this?: Dougal! Okay, you need more convincing? Florence, Dylan the spaced-out rabbit, Dougal, the music, the animation, Dougal, Ermintrude, the stories, Zebedee... (Did I mention Dougal? I loved Dougal!)

Oh, and the TV repair man made it just in time!
