I Could Have A Criminal Record...

... and, no, I don't mean "Engelbert Humperdinck's The Dance Album"!

I went shopping tonight at our local supermarket (I won't tell you which one, but I will give you a clue, because - ahem - "Every Little Helps"), and as part of my shopping, I bought two plastic storage crates for keeping handbags and shoes in (2 females sharing a house = a lot of handbags and shoes). Anyway, I got to the checkout, put all the shopping on the checkout, and decided once it was all gone through, I would put all the groceries IN the storage crates (one inside the other, I didn't have THAT much shopping). Packed all my shopping, paid, and off I went outside.

And that was when I noticed...

... all the groceries were in the storage crates, except for a carton of Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice with EXTRA Juicy Bits (no, not just the normal Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice with Juicy Bits, this stuff was more expensive @ £1.93), which was sitting in the trolley.

"Funny," I thought, "Why did I put all the rest of the stuff in the storage crates (one inside the other), and then put the carton of orange juice just in the trolley?"

And that was when the feeling of dread came over me... and I checked the receipt...

AND THE CARTON OF ORANGE JUICE WASN'T ON IT!!!!!!

Yes, people... for the first time in my life, I am guilty of (inadvertantly) shoplifting!

But, by that time, we (my brother & I) had left the-supermarket-who-will-remain-nameless, and I couldn't exactly go back and say "Here's £1.93 for the carton of orange juice I just accidentally nicked from you"!

I've got to go there again tomorrow night... What if they've reviewed the security cameras and the cops will be waiting for me? Or I'll be walking around the store and suddenly the security guard will clap me on the shoulder and say "Do you mind coming with me, madam?"?

I'll try to keep blogging from jail, if they let me...

The Sun Has Got His Hat...

...er, off again!

Yep... today's been dreich (it's a Scottish word... and it describes the weather perfectly... damp, muggy, dull and grey)... and just not long before 5o'clock, it started raining. Not heavy - just enough to add to the general feelings of "Bleurgh"ness.

What's actually needed is a real downpour, possibly with a rumble or 6 of thunder, just to clear the air. Because it's really oppressive at the moment... the kind of sticky, hot air that gives you (well, me) a sore head, and makes you (again, me) just want to sleep.

But if the rain could come overnight, that would be good, thanks.

(Sorry about all the weather posts, but it's about as close to any news as I've got for now).

Going to go shopping soon... Oh joy, oh bliss, oh rapture(!) (Yes, that is a teeny note of sarcasm you can detect)...

Since I'm Here Anyway...

I might as well fill you in on my Saturday...

I arrived at work on time (if the boss is reading this), but a little bit after 8am (if he doesn't), and worked really, really, really hard all day... didn't I, Viki & brother David? ;-D

Closed up at 5pm, did the till ready for Monday morning, and then down to Starbucks for my reward... one extra large caramel latte with cream - yum (but I bet not as good as you could make, Julie).

Spent a bit of time down at my brother's and watched a bit of "Top Gear" - I really like that now. This time they were making amphibious cars, and it was so funny watching them.

No real shopping tonight, coz we did it last night, but had a quick look round Lidl to see if anything caught my eye. Nothing except the afore-mentioned bottle of rum & lime which is now calling out to me from the fridge!

So, now I'm home... trying to decide whether to watch "Memoirs Of A Geisha" which I've not seen yet, and which is sure to be a weepie, or to find a comedy I've watched already, or to see if there's anything on any of the satellite channels... which there's probably not.

One last post to make, and then I'm offski!

Psst... S'me...

(Hi... I'm whispering coz the boss is out, and if he comes back suddenly, I don't want him to know what I'm up to! Well, I've got nothing else to be doing, and there's no customers coming to give me their pennies.

I'm feeling a bit better today... my tummy's only a little funny feeling now, and I've been trading emails with the friend from last night - I think things are okay there again. The irony is that yesterday was our "anniversary" - a year since we first met over an internet connection, and we spent it fighting!

The sun is nearly shining here today - I hope the weather's okay with you, but from what I'm hearing on the radio, if you're in Englandshire, it's a pretty fair bet you're getting some distinctly unseasonal weather... hang in there, folks... it can't rain forever.

After I've finished work (hopefully in an hour, because I've stayed here over dinnertime), there'll be the usual Saturday routine of shopping, then a glass or two of wine and a pizza while I curse over the fact my lottery numbers didn't come up and watch "Casualty" and a DVD of some description.

The bonus this weekend is that in my clearing up on Thursday, I found 2 bottles of wine that I'd bought for Christmas presents for family last year, and then didn't get to them. Now, I could have given them to the folk now, but that would just be insulting... so, as Mum would have said, "What they don't know won't hurt them" - and I just so happen to have chosen wine I like myself....

Right, I'm offski now, coz the boss is bound to be back any minute... Remember - you haven't seen me).

What A Croc!

Does anyone else own a pair of these? I've spent so long standing in that shop this week that my feet are just aching, so on my way down to take over from the boss after dinner I went in along the shoe shop and bought a pair of them.

God, they're comfy! I suspect they're designed for nurses and the like, because they're light and can be washed, but mine are going to be a slipper for home that I can wear down town and in the shop too. And I've adorned mine with a little Eeyore (coz you can buy little decorations that you just press into the holes) on each one. Oh, mine are off-white - not any of the wild and wacky colours they come in!

I'm longing for a wander to a beach or something now, because you can wear them in the water... the water just comes out the holes (What do you mean, so does the smell? Cheeky buggers!).
