Born To Rock...

Dammit, dammit, dammit... It's my sister's birthday today, and I was really hoping to find some cheesy country singer or someone like that that she shares her birthday with, but the selection isn't that bad today...

She's among such illustrious company as:

Dobie Gray (1940)
Roger Taylor (Queen drummer) (1949)
Kevin Spacey (yes, I know he's an actor, but he also did his own vocals in the movie "Beyond The Sea") (1959)
Andy Connell (musician with Swing Out Sister... Hah! Knew I'd find cheese!) (1961)

But today's tip o' the hat has to go to the newest pensioner in Rock & Roll's Hall Of Fame...

July 26th, 1943 - Michael Philip Jagger (good ol' Sir Mick) is born...

Here's The Strolling Bones * (sorry... I know I do that joke every time, but I like it) and "Start Me Up"...

* (Ahem... it should, of course, be The Rolling Stones).

And, actually, there's a way to link 2 of today's birthdays together (but anoraks will know this already... I only found this out (as did Flunky, who has almost every Stones' album going) a few weeks ago, but The Stones did a cover of Dobie Gray's "Drift Away" - I don't know if it was ever even released - in, according to one YouTube video, 1974...

Rolling Stones: Drift Away (Dobie Gray cover, rare)
