Water, Water Everywhere...
Er... most of it bubbling up through the road!
Was sitting on the sofa tonight about 8:15pm, just about to have a bit of a nap before coming online, when I suddenly was aware that something was going on in the street outside... firstly, the traffic stopped... and then I saw a police man go by the window with his hand up, obviously to stop a car coming past... "Shit," I thought, "there's been an accident"... so I got up and had a look out the window - and there was a smallish river of water running down the road.
Went out to have a look, and there were a few folk standing around further up the road...
Basically, the upshot is that a water pipe had burst, and the water was bubbling up between paving stones... and, more worryingly, through a crack that had appeared across the road!

When I went out, Scottish Water had just arrived to fix the problem... and were still there, with a dirty great big hole in the road, when I came in again just a minute ago. They reckoned it should be sorted (coz some people have had their water turned off... I'm lucky enough to be down the road from the leak) by about midnight.
That was a bit of excitement!
