The WTF Post!

Was on YouTube earlier, showing Viki one of the Hamlet Cigar adverts (all because my brother was telling her about the Hamlet music yesterday), and then I started finding other adverts from the past... and then I came on one that said something about "The Funniest Beer Advert Ever", so we clicked PLAY... Absolutely brilliant!

And this leads me on to a plea... and a possibility for a regular post (if Lou doesn't mind that I'm nicking her idea) - great adverts of the past and present (I'll warn you, most of the ones I'm thinking of are for various beers!).

Anyway... The plea! Does anyone know where I can get the music from this classic McEwan's Lager advert?

It's by an Edinburgh band, Win, from the late '80's and is called "You've Got The Power". I can't find it on iTunes. Anyone got it that they can send me? Drop me a comment and I'll get back to you. Thanks!

I Love The Co-op!

and a big "thank you" to Piggy's Bankruptcy Site for the information that made this possible:

I'VE GOT A BANK ACCOUNT! Or, at least, I will have in about a week!

I read on Piggy's Blog that he had got a Cashminder account from The Co-operative Bank as a declared bankrupt. So, I gave them a ring this morning, and a very nice guy called Chris took me through the application... and then told me, "Yes, your application has been successful."

So I can get my wages! Whether I'll be able to keep them or not is another matter! And I'll even be able to have a standing order to pay my rent & council tax!

The only downside is that we don't have a branch of the Co-op Bank here, but Chris told me that pay-ins, etc, can all be done through the Post Office... and we've got one of them.

Why am I telling you this in such detail? Because I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found Piggy's site, and I'm a believer in "Paying It Forward" - meaning that if you are in the same position (declared bankrupt, but still needing an account for your wages to be paid into), and find this post while doing a search with Google or something, then maybe you'll read it and give the Co-op a shot.

I don't guarantee that they'll say "Yes", but it's got to be worth a try!

No, Really.... Anyone Want A Cat?

Minnie is not normal, I swear!

Last night she kept going out of the living room, then running in at breakneck speed and pouncing on a carrier bag at the back of the sofa... and then this morning she kept ambushing her poor mother at the bottom of the stairs - I was in the loo, and I could see her hunching up, bum wiggling, ready to attack Harriet whenever she came round the corner!

Then, just before I left, they were both sat together in the sofa, Harriet washing Minnie's face... Minnie giving the odd lick to her mummy - when suddenly Harriet must have decided enough was enough, and she gave Minnie a clipe on the top of her head!

I don't imagine it's done any good at all calming the peedie buggerlugs down!

Anybody got any Valium? Either for me or the cat...

Put Me Out Of My Misery...

I promise... this is my last post tonight!

When I came out of Lidl, there was a kind of open-air thing for young folk featuring young, local bands at the skatepark nearby, and I caught a snatch of what the band that were on were singing.

It was a cover, and all I heard (coz the wind was blowing the sound away) was something, something "bristle with the energy".

What the hell's the song? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE someone leave a comment for me so I can find out tomorrow!
