The Peace Is Over...
For the boss returns tomorrow - no doubt all refreshed and raring to go... not! He'll be all grouchy because he's had 10 days away from the place, and really won't have wanted to come back.
Today was okay... not especially busy, but not dead either.
Shopgirl's got the day off tomorrow and Thursday (but the shop's shut Thursday anyway)... so I wonder what time the text will come tomorrow morning to say "Can u go tae the shop, ta? Don't know when you'll be back up here"? I'm guessing about 8:20am.
This foot & mouth outbreak down south couldn't have come at a worse time for the Orkney farming economy - not that there's ever any good time for that, and my sympathies are with the farms affected, especially as it seems there may have been some negligence or whatever that led to the initial outbreak - because this week (starting last Saturday) is Orkney's Agricultural Show Week, culminating in The County Show this Saturday coming. A couple of the shows have been cancelled already, and those that do go ahead, do so without any animals shown - at least, no cows, sheep or goats. Horses and poultry are okay still, and the pet show bit can still go ahead, but the whole main point of the shows is going to be missing.
Counsellor tonight - okay, but not quite as positive as last week.
Anyway, I've bored you way enough for one day, so I'll leg it and go to beddy-byes.
