It's 10pm...

And I am finally sitting down, tucking into my smoked sausage and chips from the chippie after:

Working 9am - 5pm, including dashing about in my dinner time to try and buy a new mop and bucket, coz there's a hole in my old bucket.

- Doing the till at the office ready for tomorrow after 5pm.

- Having an evaluation with 4 (FOUR!!) council staff into how I'm getting on with the Home Support... thankfully, we're all quite pleased with how the sorting out of the house is going.

- Doing about 2 hours sorting out of stuff with my H.S. workers.

and

- Going down to the shop about half past 8 to do the till there.

Then I went round to my brother and he gave me a run home with my chips, coz I'm now on strike.

Know what? I'm finally seeing a chink of light in my life... even something as simple as what I'm going to do a bit later tonight. I've cleared Mum's tat off the mantelpiece above the fire (including the ghastly Woolies cheapo carriage clock I bought her the first Christmas I had my own money to buy my own presents for people), and later I'm going to choose some of my own taste ornaments that have always had to be shut away in my room, and I'm going to put them on MY mantelpiece!

It feels good to have my own space that I can finally stamp my personality on... I can't wait until I move to whatever smaller house I get, and I can decorate to my taste, and get rid of the horrid peachy flowery wallpaper!

Who knows? Maybe I'll even take a photo of MY mantelpiece and let you see it tomorrow...

I'm moving on, folks... I don't know where I'm going yet, but the journey is getting good.

Want to come with me for the ride?

Good for you!!...One word of warning..on any journey it's always nice to show where you've COME from. So in years to come you can compare and see the growth you;ve made. Take photos, don;t always throw things out that have a meaning for you, somethings need to be kept in shoeboxes....

Don't worry, Julie... the things I'm throwing out so far aren't of any sentimental value.

When I look at Mum's ornaments or Dad's books (and god knows there are hundreds of both!) I just see years of Dad annoyed at the nick-nacks, and Mum annoyed at the books.

To paraphrase Roxette:
"HELLO! you fool! I Love You! I'm gonna join your Joy-Ride....." ;)

I hope I'll see a little Kiwi on your mantle-piece when I come to visit, Ally! x

I debated taking my wee Kiwi down to the mantle-piece, but at the moment he's sitting right in front of my monitor on my computer desk!

If my plan works out and I move the computer desk downstairs (easier said than done - it's bloody heavy), then Nev the Kiwi will move too...!
