A Month Of... Going Around America...

Er... just checking, and I think I've lost a day somewhere - Hope I had a good time!

So, I'd better remedy that by dropping in on Pennsylvania for a bit of that "Philadelphia Freedom" with Elton John...

Born To Rock...

A slightly unexpected one today, perhaps... but he's released an album, and I think he does have a fantastic voice (not to mention the fact he's, oh, ever so slightly DROP-DEAD SEXY)...

Apr. 4th, 1965 - Actor Robert Downey Jr. is born...

And here's the link to a video someone's made for the version of Joni Mitchell's song "River" that he sang when he was acting in "Ally MacBeal"...

Robert Downey Jr. - River

I think the only version of that song I've heard that I like better than his is one that Travis did a while back.

And a link for a song that he doesn't sing, but does lip-synch for the video... and he looks so damaged and vulnerable in it that you just want to wrap him up in bubblewrap (What? Just me, then?)... Elton John's "I Want Love"...

Born To Rock...

Mar. 6th, 1947 - Little baby Pauline Matthews arrived in the world.

"Who?", I hear you cry... Well, she's better known now as Kiki Dee...

Here she is with Elton John (before he had acrylic - sorry, hair!) and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart"...

LOL... It's just struck me - Wonder if this song would have been such a success if it had been released under their original names? Imagine the DJ on "Top Of The Pops":

"Now then, now then... Here's Reginald Dwight and Pauline Matthews with their latest smash tune..."
