Er... No, You're Not...

Viki showed me this last night and I just about peed myself laughing... This is taking blonde to the extreme!

From America's version of the quiz show "Are You Smarter Than A Ten Year Old?", called "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" comes this poor girl with nothing but peroxide up top!

How did she ever get as high as $10,000?

Oh, and as it was for charity, I guess this was a celebrity special, and she's some sort of celebrity... not that I've ever heard of her. Bit like she's never heard of Hungary!

I Learned Something New The Other Day...

Ducks in Hungary don't say "Quack"... They say...

Horses don't "Neigh", they...

Roosters certainly don't "Cock-a-doodle-doo"... Instead, preferring to...

Dogs don't "Woof", and Pigs don't "Oink"...

Rabbits don't... er... whatever British Rabbits do... (and I don't mean "buzz" either... drag your minds out of the gutter... we'll have no battery-assisted bunnies on THIS blog, thankyouverymuch!)...

Bears (with or without a sore head) don't sha-la-la-la in the woods... They...

Goats (least, I think this is a goat) don't "Meh"... They...

Frogs (fuj!) don't kiss princesses and turn into handsome princes (unfortunately)... and they don't "Croak" either... They...

Sheep don't "Bah"... They...

And finally, Mice don't "Eeek" or "Squeak"... They...

This led me into thinking... What if a British duck was to meet a Hungarian duck? Neither would know what the other one was speaking about!

And what if Viki went a walk to the Peedie Sea to feed the ducks? Would she say "Hàp, hàp" only to be met with blank looks? Or maybe there would be one lonely Hungarian duck stopped off for a rest who would look up with a shocked and quizzical "Hàp?"

Er... I've got too much time on my hands, I think... juj!

One Day... Less Than 24 Hours...

Only one more sleep until Viki arrives!

So I'm sat here (when I really should be hoovering, or cleaning the loo, or dusting the cat) with a glass of Unicum Next (a Hungarian liqueur which Viki brought a peedie bottle of over to me when she was over in August, and which I had deliberately not opened until now) beside me.

And it is delicious, by the way. It tastes kinda citrus-y, with a hint of cough medicine (I know, I'm really not selling it to you at all, am I?). It's really like something I've drunk before... I thought Southern Comfort, but it doesn't smell like it (yes, I went to the bottles in the cupboard and had a good sniff... and that sounds bad, like I've got this cupboard full of booze, but it's not that. Most of the bottles are under half full, and probably about 5 years old!). And it's not Morgans Spiced either. I wonder if it's Cointreau? It's dark brown, kinda syrupy, and is described as a digestif... so it's good for you too (well, so I tell myself)!

Am drinking to Viki's safe flight tomorrow...

Cheers, m'dear! *hic*

Great Moments In Cinema...

And TV - Part 39

I was sent this as part of my birthday present by Viki, and watched it on Saturday night... and instantly fell in love...

"Vuk", a Hungarian animation about a little fox cub (Vuk), and how he grows up and learns to hunt - all watched over by his uncle after his parents and siblings are taken by a hunter.

Unfortunately, I can't find the English language version (like I was sent) on YouTube, but I beg you, if you can find this in English, get your hands on it and watch... It's touching, funny, cute, and so much more...

This is the start, in Hungarian, but it'll show you the animation style...
