One Day... Less Than 24 Hours...

Only one more sleep until Viki arrives!

So I'm sat here (when I really should be hoovering, or cleaning the loo, or dusting the cat) with a glass of Unicum Next (a Hungarian liqueur which Viki brought a peedie bottle of over to me when she was over in August, and which I had deliberately not opened until now) beside me.

And it is delicious, by the way. It tastes kinda citrus-y, with a hint of cough medicine (I know, I'm really not selling it to you at all, am I?). It's really like something I've drunk before... I thought Southern Comfort, but it doesn't smell like it (yes, I went to the bottles in the cupboard and had a good sniff... and that sounds bad, like I've got this cupboard full of booze, but it's not that. Most of the bottles are under half full, and probably about 5 years old!). And it's not Morgans Spiced either. I wonder if it's Cointreau? It's dark brown, kinda syrupy, and is described as a digestif... so it's good for you too (well, so I tell myself)!

Am drinking to Viki's safe flight tomorrow...

2 Days...

Less than 48 hours now until I'll have a flatmate!

*Looks around at the mess*

Oh, god... I'm going to be busy tomorrow night and Saturday (thank god Viki doesn't arrive until evening)! That's what you get for thinking, "It's okay... I've got plenty of time".

No... Actually, it's not that bad. After all, it's only about a month & a half since Viki was here last... even I can't make THAT much of a mess in that time (and you can stop laughing, brother)!

Well, off to beddie for me... Night, night....

It's 25 Past 11....

at night, and I've just nipped on to quickly say...

"3 days til Viki comes".

Now I'm going to bed because:

a. I'm cold, and my cold hasn't buggered off yet.
b. My leg is nipping a bit after the dressing was changed today.
c. I watched the first episode of series 3 of "Heroes" earlier, and I'm confused already... and also I'm going to go and dream about the Petrelli brothers... Hubba!

So, cheerio... and I'll hopefully feel a bit better tomorrow.

FOUR Goodness Sake!

I made a mistake there, didn't I?

That should have been FOUR days, not 5!

Blame it on the fact I've been too tied up trying to download some new music (well, old music - coz it was mostly 80's stuff - but new to my mp3 player) and then get my mp3 player (the fruity one) synched which took an age because I've only got a USB 1.0 port accessible on the front of my computer... and by the time that was done, I was just about asleep.

5 days of bad habits and things that you can get off with when you're living alone, before I have to start doing things like shutting the bathroom door when I go to the loo (my cats used to follow me to the loo in the old house, and if I shut the door, they just sat outside meowing and pawing at the door... so it was easier just to leave the door open and let them come in), and stop doing things like leaving my pants on the bathroom floor!

6 Days...

... 'til Viki arrives (by which time I will hopefully be better, but more about that in a bit).

Time for another thing I'm going to inflict on the poor girl... my somewhat "eclectic" musical taste, and the fact that if I'm sat here at the computer at home, then I'll have iTunes on "shuffle", and will probably be singing along (somewhat badly) to whatever's on at that given moment.

And if it's something that is just perfect for whatever mood I'm in, or I haven't heard it for a while, or it's the soundtrack to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", then I might even have it on repeat a few times (tonight's repeated track was "Tongue-Tied" from "Red Dwarf")... *Ahem*

I've given up trying to convince anyone (or even myself) that my mp3 player is in any way, shape, or form, credible. There was a bit in a magazine I was reading last night that was going on about various members of the editorial staff and what cheese they had on their iPods... and the more I read, the more I realised that my musical taste is dodgy to say the least. They had:

"Atmosphere" by Russ Abbot (yes, it's there, but someone sent it to me as a joke, and I've just never taken it off)
"Snooker Loopy" by Chas 'n' Dave (thankfully, no)
"Saturday Night" by Whigfield (yes, but don't know why... I hate it)
"I Breathe Again" by Adam Rickitt (ditto Chas 'n' Dave)
Assorted showtunes and music from "Fame", "Flashdance", etc (guilty as charged)
Three Enrique Iglesias tracks (fuck)
"The Ballroom Of Romance" by Chris De Burgh (no, but I do have "Don't Pay The Ferryman")
"The Final Countdown" by Europe (ditto Enrique)
All the Eurovision entries since 2003 (some) and everything recorded by Dana International (no, but I do have "Diva")
"We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters (no... whew, maybe there's hope for me yet?)
"Rhinestone Cowboy" by Glen Campbell (er... yes)
"Never Ending Story" by Limahl (er... I plead the 5th - I don't care if I'm not American!)
"We Don't Have To..." by Jermaine Stewart (ditto Enrique again)
Selection of old TV themes (er... zip) and "Agadoo" (thankfully, no)

But I think it's fair to say the Music Police would have me banged up for life with no hope of parole.

So, I'm filling up on cheesy songs and obscure tracks in this week before Viki comes... and, if I can shake off this cold, I'll get the bad singing along out of my system too.

It's Been One Week...

since my last countdown, and it's now just...

week until Viki arrives!

Oh, time for another thing that poor Viki needs to look out for... Minnie the cat!

When I go out to work, and while Viki's in the house during the day, she's going to be driven crazy by Minnie wanting in, wanting out, wanting food, wanting more food (don't give her any, Viki!), wanting out, wanting in again, wanting water, wanting some more food, getting under Viki's feet, trying to pretend she's still hungry, wanting FRESH food because the stuff she got 10 minutes ago is old now, and so on, and so on...

Viki, I recommend booting her outside, shutting the door, and turning up the music so you can't hear her meowing... and no sneaking her bits of ham!
