It's Thursday (But Only Just)

Yes, I'm cheating slightly... I'm not sure if I'm going to be online at all tomorrow since I'm likely to be stuck in the shop all day, then home to sorting out more of Mum & Dad's stuff with my pet Home Support Workers and, by the time that's done at the back of 8pm, then I'll still have my tea to find, and if I remember rightly, there's an episode of "Trial & Retribution" on tomorrow night that I want to see (Yes, Viki... I will be lusting over Scarguyonce again - but at least it's not AP!). So I'm planting Thursday's posts now, so I don't have to do them on Friday and backdate them.

Not that there's that much to tell you about Tuesday and Wednesday... just working (Tuesday started off at the office, then down to the shop - and Wednesday (I'm fighting the urge to say "Today" because I've not been to bed yet) was down at the shop, up at the office for about an hour & a half (taking my lunch with me) and then back down at the shop). Can't tell you why, but I can't wait until this month is over (and it's already over halfway through - Christmas seems like so long ago now).

And that's really about it.

Oh, Nev... Just in case you don't read my reply comment - Yes, that was the Sarah Greene I was talking about on Monday!

And "Hello!" to Julie - How are you, m'dear? I hardly seem to have time to plant PMs for you these days since I'm hardly ever at the office. Big hugs m'hunny, and I hope you're keeping that boss of yours (and that man of yours) on his (their) toes!

And Cheeky - where the heck have you disappeared to again? And Freddie... no news on those new grandbabies of yours yet?

My Little Horny - Disclaimer...

Well, I've just had a look at the My Little Pony online catalogue and website, and it looks like Morning Glory isn't a unicorn... just a regular pony.

So, it's not quite so funny, coz I can't make the "horny" joke... but it doesn't alter the fact it's a slightly dodgy name for a kids' toy!

My Little Horny...

Thanks to Earl Otterby for sending me this photo on Friday, for it's kept me giggling ever since... as well as going back and forth to our local Woolies (other stores are available, just not up here) coz I want one of these for myself!

Picture the scene... It's a brain-storming session at My Little Pony HQ... they've just produced a new limited edition pony, a really sweet little unicorn... so what do they decide (in their infinite wisdom) to call it?

Morning Glory! I kid you not! :^D

Yes, it's a pony with a little horn!

Now, I don't for a minute imagine that a sweet and innocent kiddie is going to get the reference, but this has got to be a deliberate piss-take by My Little Pony, hasn't it? Surely someone at some stage would have said "Er, hang on a minute..." if it had just been some dippy twonk in the creative team who had led a sheltered life...?

Grrrr

For various reasons that I can't go into yet, work's a bit of a struggle these days... mainly because, as I've said, the boss' attitude is really getting me down just now.

And add to that the fact that I'm pretty up to date with everything now, and it's quiet while everyone is away on holidays and things, and not thinking about lights, etc - and you get me spending the last week or so scratching around trying to find things to keep me busy and stimulated for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week.

So, I thought it would be the perfect chance to ask for a couple of days off...

His answer? No! Coz he's waiting for an important call that might come tomorrow, and the caller might need some information that the boss might need me to provide if he calls and if the boss can't find the information himself. And if the caller doesn't phone tomorrow, then he might let me have Friday off, if it looks like the caller won't phone Friday, but he might... looking for this information that he might need, and the boss might need me to find... so I don't fancy my chances for getting Friday off either.

I was going to spend the days sorting through some more of Mum's ornaments, and make a start sorting Dad's books... Maybe if I'd said to him I wanted the days off coz I was going on the skite tonight and needed the next 2 days to sober up then he might have said "Yes"!? That seems to be the way to get time off!

But, after I covered the shop at dinnertime, and then dropped off the banking, I did manage to get the rest of this afternoon off (all 2.5 hours of it). Spent it with my brother, and had a wander round the street looking at stuff I couldn't afford...

Well, now I've had my rant and got all that off my chest, I guess I'll have a game of spider solitaire and go to bed.

Viki, sorry I didn't get on in time for a chat... hope I can catch up tomorrow.
Scott, congratulations on your new baby niece.
Julie, I've missed you while SN's been out of action - I hope you're coping with the coffee shop okay.
Cheeky, have you dropped off the face of the planet? Or fallen prey to a ruthless vampire hunter?

And all my other regular blog readers, an Irish blessing I've just found for you...

"As you slide down the banister of life, may none of the splinters point the wrong way"

or

"May you be in Heaven half an hour before the devil discovers you're deid"

I Had All These Plans For This Post...

I was going to come on and tell you it had been a lovely sunny day today (yesterday, I guess... since it's now after midnight), and how work had been okay, and how I'd had a phone call from Lord O. at Julie's bookshop's (well, not JULIE's bookshop, but I bet she could do a better job!) party for the Harry Potter book launch, which seemed to be a great success... but then I came on MSN for a chat with another friend, and I've obviously done something to piss her off - and she let me know. I had to just say goodnight and come off before it got too much for me.

And now I've just had an upset stomach and had to dash to the loo about 10 to midnight, where I stayed for a good 20 minutes. I've still got stomach pains, and I feel sick, but I was fine before... Coincidence?

So, I'll bugger off to bed... or back to the loo again... and just say sorry to the friend in question, but hey, at least I'm being punished for my crime!

I hope you can read what this says, but just in case you can't... It says...

Hippo Birdie Two Ewes
Hippo Birdie Deer Ewe
Hippo Birdie Two Ewes!
Happy Birthday, Splott - The card's going in the post today, I promise... I hope it'll hit Taunton on Saturday... and the present will come, but I need some time to look around and get something good...

Birthday hugs, hun... Keep smiling! x

The Last Couple Of Days...

Well, I left you on Saturday, so what's happened since?

You may have guessed that I spend Saturday night glued to the annual cheesefest that is the Eurovision Song Contest... with the added bonus this year of having Viki in Hungary, and Scott & Julie in Somerset to compare songs with... the text messages were flying - my favourite being from Viki when Ukraine's entry started - which just said "LOLOLOLOLOL!!!" Some things are funny in any language!

Then Sunday was a lazy day.

Sunday night was pretty much sleepless... I'd laid in a twist or something Saturday night, and my back had been sore all Sunday - and then it kept me off sleep all bloody Sunday night. I couldn't get comfy in any position, and it hurt every time I moved. But if I stayed still for longer than quarter of an hour or so, then it locked in that position and got sore again.

Monday morning I had a meeting at the council about the tenancy of the house since Dad's died. The good news being that the tenancy is now transferred to me. However, I want a smaller house (this one has 4 bedrooms) - and they've got a place they want me to see on Wednesday. It's a one bedroomed little house in a wide lane called The Strynd (see pic, below... I think it's about where that dyke on the left starts), right off the main shopping street, just a stone's throw away from the Cathedral. Part of me's thinking it would be great - central, and not far away from the harbour where I grew up... but part of me's thinking how would the cats cope with being so near the town centre?

But I'll reserve judgement until I've seen inside the house.

The rest of yesterday was busy at work. Today was pretty busy too, but not as bad as yesterday.

The weather's been really strange the last couple of days... sunny, and then horrid showers - some of them almost like hailstones! This is May, for god's sake! Can we not have our winter weather in winter time?

Well, college tomorrow and then checking out this house, so I'd better go and get some sleep... unless Minnie the cat decides she's going to use me as a trampoline again tonight!

Got The Blues...

But only temporarily!

Thanks to my ghost blogger, Lord O, for rescuing the bits that I had no idea how to get back.

I'm feeling quite proud of myself though, because I've managed to add some links with this new Blogger - Nev, yours is there finally!

Fonts and that will change yet, but that's still a bit too technical for me!
