The Rant Spot

Two things (apart from having to work) that are hacking me off this morning:

1. Our tinpot local radio station has just played that bloody sickening "Kissed A Girl" song. How the fuck did that get to number one? I'll tell you how... By cynically catering to the Spotty 15-year-old Boy and Dirty Old Man markets, that's how!

What do you do? You get a song that hints at a bit of girl-on-girl action, and then you make a "girly sleepover party" video... complete with opening shots of Katy Perry, half-naked on a bed, stroking her pussy(cat)!

And what do you get? You get every testosterone-filled, sexually-frustrated, spotty herbert 15-year-old boy and dirty old man downloading the video as a wank-aid! And you get a number one hit with a song that is crap!

2. Philadelphia Splendips... Why is it, no matter how you try to be careful to take not too little and not too much of the "dip" bits per "thing to be dipped", you always end up with one of two situations:

- No dipping things left, and still enough dip for at least another 2 goes!
- Half a dozen dipping things left, and no dip!

Today was the former, so I was sat here sucking Philly off my fingers so as not to waste it! Mind you, I've got another one for lunchtime, so what's the bets the latter option happens when I go to have it? I should have kept that wee grain!

And another thing... why are the little dip sections such a stupid shape? (For those of you not familiar with this snack product, they're a kind of "rounded" triangle shape). The ones I had today were the "Nachos" ones, and the corn chips are triangular shaped... and you can't get the fucking things right into the corners of the dip pots, no matter how hard you try!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

It's 20 Past 8...

in the am, the sun is shining, and I'm sat here at work.

So much for being able to have a Saturday off when the boss is not away.

Yes, I'll get Tuesday off, but as that's for my auntie's funeral, it doesn't really compensate.

This Week's "Arseholes Of The Week" Award....

... goes to those gits at BT who are messing me about over trying to get my phone number transferred to the new house!

I phoned them before I actually moved and explained that I was moving, and needed to transfer my phone number to the new house, and to get it ready for Broadband as well... at which point they informed me that the previous tenant hadn't notified them that he was leaving, so they'd have to get in contact with him to get his authorisation, and that would take 10 days.

So I explained to them that he'd been evicted, and the house had been empty for at least a month... And they told me to get the council (as landlords) to contact them and explain this, and they would cancel the line. Then, 24 hours later, I could contact them and set up the transfer.

So, I did this... and when I phoned BT later, they told me that the previous tenant had opted out of BT's line rental... so I would have to get in touch with the company that the ex-tenant was with ("Plug in a phone and dial 150, madam... That will connect you through to the company"), and ask them to return the line to BT.

Finally got a shot of a phone last night (my cordless one is in a box somewhere... probably in the attic), and tried dialing 150 this morning... and all I got was "The number has not been recognised".

So I phoned BT again, and they informed me that the line was still active, and was with another provider... but that it wasn't a case of finding out who and getting it handed back over - oh, no... I would have to pay £125 to get a new BT line put in! This despite the fact that there's an active line in the house already!

There's no fucking way I can afford to pay £125 for a phone line - especially one that's there already! And why should I when it's not my fault that the stupid ex-tenant decided to pay his line rental to someone other than BT!?

This is a major pain in the arse, because until I get a phone line, I can't get Sky sorted out, or my Broadband!

So, congratulations British Telecom on winning "Arseholes Of The Week"!

Bloody Hell, Folks

I don't know what it's like where you are, but in bonny Orkney tonight it's cold enough to freeze the cassocks off a brass monk, and everywhere is covered in a layer of lovely, sparkly - and very, very slippery - frost!

Seriously, the roads and pavements are like a skating rink! It was slippy when I went to work this morning, it thawed a bit (where the sun shone) all day - and as soon as it got dark down came the ice again... meaning it was already slippy when I finished work at 5pm.

And, speaking of roads, I wish I could line our roads department up against the wall and shoot the whole bloody lot of them... Remember I told you on Monday that they road men were digging up outside the house again? Well, they've turned the bit outside my house, going up to a housing scheme, into a no-through road! There's a big square in front of the house, and they've put a kerb right across it - effectively cutting my house off from the rest of the street (I'm the top house). It means now that to get to the taxi in the morning, I have 3 choices:

1. Go down the road a bit.
2. Go along the road a bit.
3. Get the taxi to go down my road, along another road, up a road, round a corner, along a road, round another corner and down a bit to get to the parking space outside my house.

I'll take a photo once they've finished so you can see how bloody stupid the idea is. I'm actually glad Dad's not here anymore, because there's no way he'd have been able to walk the distance out or down the road to where the taxi would stop... and I'd bet that at least 90% of taxi drivers wouldn't go the longer route to get a 90 year old man to his gate!

And all this because somebody complained that the road is "dangerous" for kids playing - despite the fact I've not heard of any accidents in the 20+ years I've lived here... and despite the fact that there's a big sign on the wall a bit above my street that says "NO BALL GAMES" - so they're not MEANT to play there!

Grrrrrrrr.

Work was boring as hell today. In the office, catching up on what I can't do when I'm in the shop... and it's flipping cold in our main building (the shop's lovely and warm because the heating needs to be on to keep the paper dry - no such luxury in the electrical bit). Boss buggered off for a while at lunchtime, then mid-afternoon, then decided he'd go home 10 minutes before 5o'clock, and leave muggins to close up. So I didn't get past Starbucks for my usual XL gingerbread latte with cream - and I'd had no coffee all day, because every time the boss went out, he "forgot" to buy milk! So, no caffeine, and no warm liquid to warm me up... Is it any wonder I'm a little wound up?

Tomorrow I plan to do as little as possible. Not heard from my friend yet, but I suspect tomorrow's not going to be ideal for balloon-releasing either. I don't think it's going to be windy enough... and if it's still freezing, I'd rather not venture too far. I've no desire to start 2008 with any broken bones, thank you very much!

Right... I'm off to (possibly) treat myself to a Sky Box Office film. I kinda fancy seeing "Hairspray" - just for the absurdity of John Travolta in a fat-suit and frock. It might be funny... But, on the other hand, it might just be cringeworthy. Oh, what a dilemma...

Okay, see ya!

Hanging On In There...

That's 2 days I've made it through! Only 4 more to survive before I get one day off... and then another 6... and this having to cover the shop really isn't helping matters. As long as I'm down there, there's so much up at the office I can't get doing.

I was up at the office first thing today so that I could do the wages, but I'd not even started them before the boss was on the phone (for he was down in the shop) asking when I'd be down for he needed to do something back up at the office.

So, I made it down to the shop about 12o'clock, let the boss go, with the promise that he'd come back "just after 1pm" to let me go for lunch... He arrived at 10 to 2 (like yesterday) - funny how shopgirl HAD to go for dinner on the dot of 1pm, isn't it? Oh, and he told me I'd be pretty much "guaranteed my Saturdays" until we get a new shop-assistant... In other words, not a chance of a weekend off! Sort of Ex-Shopgirl is still going to be doing some Saturdays for us, but this weekend I'll be up at the office attempting to cram 5 days' work into one day - as well as trying to fathom out what the boss has done to "help" while I've been down the shop, and fix his mistakes!

My feet have got back into shop mode anyway... they hurt like hell - and it's not like the soles of them... it's the tops, and it seems to be in the bones... and it's sore...

Well, that's about all for my moan for the day - going to let the cats in now (funnily enough, Harriet was in all last night, and there was no way she was going outside that door before I went to work... just in case I didn't let her back in again). Oh, NO! I've just noticed something... It's raining outside... meaning soggy moggy cuddles! Yukkie!

G'night...

I Made It!

I survived my first day back at work since Saturday 29th December... but it was a struggle.

For a start, I was so afraid I would sleep in that I woke up sometime after 3am, then again about 5am, then I lay and sort of half-slept until about half past 6... at which point I gave up trying to get any more sleep and watched cartoons instead.

Then, when I ventured outside to wait for my taxi, it was to a hard frost, and the council workmen making ready to start digging up the road outside again (they've stuck silly pavements at weird angles in the roadway outside to try and slow traffic - which took them about a bloody month before Christmas, and I thought they were finished... but, no, they're back again).

Work was busy... down in the bloody shop all day - I'll be so glad when we get a replacement for our ex-shopgirl. At least I'll be up in the office for the morning part of tomorrow, because I've got to do the wages - but I expect I'll be back down serving the masses in the afternoon.

Came home to a line of cones, and a trench dug across the road, meaning you can't get a car within about 50 yards of the place... and it was frosty again... and it will be again tomorrow morning - It's going to be a miracle if I get to the taxi without landing on my erse!

Also came home to a poor cat who'd been closed out all last night, and today... Harriet didn't come home last night, and she's obviously got used to me being home all day, because she didn't realise she had to be in before 9am if she wanted in before I went to work. Poor mog... but she should learn from her mistake for tomorrow morning, if she happens to venture out tonight.

Well, that's about all from my day. Has life returned to normal for everyone else, then?

Dear Blogger...

Sorry Ally was unable to attend on Tuesday or Wednesday, but she's been feeling like death warmed up after a stupid taxi phone operator left her standing outside the chip shop on Tuesday night in the pouring rain for 20 minutes because she sent the taxi driver to the WRONG chip shop.

She came home, got out of her wet clothes, ate her COLD chips, and shivered under a blanket for the rest of the evening... her sinuses still hurting.

Wednesday, she woke up with more of a cold, still freezing, but had to soldier on and go to college, then to work, then to get something for tea... feeling really like potato wedges and sour cream dip - which of course meant that every shop in Orkney was sold out of sour cream dip, so a pot of tzatziki was purchased instead.

Then she was too pissed off to come and blog, so she cuddled the cat instead.

This morning she woke with a case of "barbecue chicken pizza-itis" (see "Flunky Logic" post), which cleared up more or less straight away, but still her mood could best be described as grumpy...

She's back now, but be nice to her as she's still feeling a bit fragile.

Yours etc,

Ally's Guardian

Fucking LG!

I got a letter today informing me that the fault in my LG Chocolate phone ISN'T repairable under warranty (despite being the second time in just over a year that it's happened), and providing me with a quote for repair....

..... for just shy of £90!

Chancing bunch of wankers! I am so unimpressed!

People, I implore you.... never buy one of their phones!

The Catch-Up

Otherwise known as "What I Got Up To Over The Weekend", otherwise known as "Bugger All, Really"...

Was working Saturday - Now, I may have mentioned in passing that Saturday was our "County Show" - the culmination of a week of agricultural shows. Well, it's usually a Saturday off for us, because we don't open that day. However, the boss decided this year that maybe it would be a good money-making day if we opened the stationery shop... and, since he knew I didn't bother going to the show (if you've seen one tractor or cow's erse, you've seen them all, I find), would I "like to work in the shop"? (In other words, "I know you'll be doing bugger all else, so you might as well work... and I won't have to pay you extra").

At least it was steady... I sold a desk and a chair, which would have made it worth opening, and a lot of other small things too.

And you know what I did Saturday night - watched a DVD with a glass of wine (most of which was still on the table in the morning, coz I fell asleep just after the film finished).

Sunday I just had a lazy day... most of it spent being cuddled by a snoring cat.

And today? Today was a really shitty day... Without going into too much detail, the boss is wasting no time in telling us how much he doesn't want to be there, and how pissed off he is... and it's hard to be enthusiastic and take a pride in your work when your boss is constantly moaning and doesn't seem to be that bothered about small matters like customers and orders!

So the boss forecast for tomorrow? Wet, windy and not much sign of a change!

Do You (Photo)Copy?

Oh, how I wish our shopgirl had said "No" when one particular customer asked her that question!

Someone came in with some leaflets that they wanted copied yesterday. "What's the problem?" I hear you cry? Well, she went off to T In The Park today, and the customer wanted A LOT of copying done. How much is a lot? Try 8 different double sided A4 leaflets - 300 copies of each! Shopgirl managed to get 2 sets done yesterday, leaving me 1800 leaflets to copy today!

Then factor into that the fact that 2 of the cartridge things in our copier ran out, meaning that the machine just stopped each time... and some bright spark hadn't ordered a replacement black toner cartridge last time it ran out, so we had to find another company with the same copier as us and beg to nick one of their's until we can get more delivered!

Then factor into that that today was HOT, and a photocopier running flat out adds a few degrees, and the heating we have to keep on so that our paper doesn't get damp adds a few degrees, and the copier adds a lot of noise...

Then factor in that every time someone came in wanting other copying or printing done, I had to stop the leaflets and do their stuff... and everyone seemed to want difficult copying done... and then complained that our copier didn't do a good enough job...

Then factor into that that folk came in when I was trying to change the cartridges, or waiting for the boss to track down one from one of our neighbours, and were grumpy coz they couldn't get their copying done RIGHT AWAY... and either tutted and walked out again, or stood and tutted as I tried to figure out how to change the damn cartridge, and then moaned that the copy was too light/too dark/too big/too small... you name it.

Finally, add social workers stressing me out... a certain family member who is over-reacting to something I did and grumped at me tonight... and everything else, and I've had a BAD day!

Tuesday...

Last bossless day today... tomorrow he will be back, and no doubt bemoaning his lot once again, and how he didn't want to come back, etc, etc, etc...

Looks like the money thing is going to be sorted within the next 3 weeks or so... it's a plan where I make one payment in the month to some agent, and they pay the creditors. That's what I need, coz otherwise I get in a complete tizz about who I'm meant to pay, when and how much... and it ends up they don't get paid. But, hey, it's not bankruptcy yet, and that's the main thing...

I think that's about all... no college tomorrow. There is a class, but our shopgirl needs the day off, coz she's getting the cast off her foot and she wants to be able to rest it for the first day. Not that there was going to be an awful lot of learning done tomorrow... no doubt everyone just giving each other a pat on the back for how well they did(!)

Well, I'll bugger off to bed now. See you round!

My Shit Day

It started with a visit to the council to fill in a standing order form for paying my rent... and the knowledge that however much I'm struggling financially at the moment, in 2 weeks' time, I'll still be struggling, but there's gonna be £50+ less a week for me to struggle on...

Then I went up to the office - and without going into too much detail - basically I got told "No internet, no texting, no private phone calls during work hours". And then I got told that I should have a lunch break... no going down the street and taking a soup or whatever back with me - and then I got sent down to the shop to cover from 1pm (with no dinner, coz I had to do the banking first)... so by 5pm, I'd had a row, no food, not even a coffee, and I'd spent an afternoon in a dead-quiet shop twiddling my thumbs.

Sometimes I wish I could just say "Fuck it... I'm going to give in to that depression and stop trying to fight", but I can't... I can't afford to try to live on SSP, or dole, and what happens then when I'm "better" and can't get another job?

So, no music posts or anything tonight... I'm too tired and hacked off.

I Knew It Wouldn't Last...

I got a day and a half up at the office, before the boss came in before dinner time today and said "Shopgirl's only gonna manage to do half days for the next while"... So I spent this afternoon in the bloody shop again... I'm there tomorrow afternoon after college (my last lesson before the exam on Monday - eeek!)... I'm there sometime on Thursday... and I'm there Friday morning... and then god knows... So I'm back amongst the Tippex and "Can I have 15 sheets of that colour paper, and 8 sheets of that colour, and 17 of that one, and 2 of that pink... no wait... that pink's too light... and can I have 2 sheets of the first colour instead of 15 and 13 of that other colour there? And how much is it per sheet? 5p? Oh, no... I can't afford that... I'll have to put some back..."

Tell me, shopworker blog-readers... how the hell do you put up with it? Customers who don't know what the hell they're looking for really drive me up the wall... "Can I get a cartridge for a printer? It's an Epson, I think... or maybe an HP... Number? It's an 860... or a 680... there was definitely a 6 in it..." IT - JUST - REALLY - DRIVES - ME - CRAZY!!!!!!!!

Counsellor tonight... discussing my sleep problems and money situation... I've been to the C.A.B. again about debt management and how to pay it off, coz now I've got to find £50+ rent per week, never mind Council Tax, phone bills, electricity and the like, as well as try to pay off my debts. And they really cheered me up...(!) "Well, under this debt repayment program, you could be clear of debt in 4.5 years. Fucking hell - I don't even imagine myself 4.5 MONTHS ahead, never mind knowing that I'm going to be flat, stoney broke for the next 54 months...

Spent tonight sending voice messages teaching English to Viki in Hungary... not my fault she demanded I teach her all the swearwords!

Oh, well... I'll bugger off now...

Tuesday, June 05, 2007

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

Oh, god - today's been one of those days!

Down the shop (and I was early enough that I could go and get a takeaway coffee before opening up), and then up to the office to do the wages about dinnertime, and then back down to the shop just before 3pm for the rest of the day.

Took my lunch down with me (soup and a sandwich... and managed to get soup on my jumper before I got it as far as the shop), and then every time I tried to have my soup, someone would come in, walk around for 10 minutes (now, we're not THAT big a shop) - during which time I have to be on "Can I help you?"/"We're watching you, so don't try and nick anything" watch at the counter.... so my bloody soup was damn near cold by the time I got it. The red mist really had descended today, and every time the shop bell went, I had to fight the urge to punch something, and smile sweetly.

Then, to add to my annoyance, I forgot to charge my phone last night, and it snuffed it mid-afternoon... meaning I was totally alone in the shop (as I alluded to, it was dead today... people came in, but they weren't buying). I'd got a text from a friend, and I was desperate to reply, just to let them know that I'd got it, and I wasn't ignoring them.

Counsellor tonight... and I really wasn't in the mood for it.

Well, that's about all - college tomorrow morning, and then the shop for the rest of the day... Oh, joy(!)

Sunday, June 03, 2007

That Was The Weekend, That Was...

... and, as usual, it passed in a blur of working and sleeping...

Saturday... down in the shop working today, which was okay, I guess... and it meant I only had to start at 10am - not 8am like will be my fate in a couple of weeks, as the boss is away, and I have to open up the store... oh, joy(!)

And, guess what? Our shopgirl's not going to be back until Wednesday at the very earliest. I texted the boss mid-afternoon to say I had an appointment on Monday morning, but hopefully *name with-held* would be back. He phoned a bit later to say her ankle's still so swollen that they can't tell if it's broken or not, and it's going to be plastered on Wednesday. She reckons she'll get the plaster on and come in that day, but the boss says she's going to need time to get used to the plaster, so she probably won't be in all next week. For fuck's sake... all this coz of a hockey game!

Oh, and someone could have told me that it wasn't a good idea to wear those Crocs shoes with your bare feet... I spent most of the morning either in my bare feet, or treading very carefully in my sweaty shoes so I didn't slip and land in a heap at the foot of some poor unfortunate customer. But I went out at dinnertime and got a pair of trainer liners. They were okay after that.

After work was shopping, then an evening of pizza, a glass of wine, "Casualty" and then a DVD. Tonight's choice was "The Pacifier", starring Vin Diesel... a moderately okay film, but hubba, that guy's got muscles (yes, I'm shallow... so sue me...).

Sunday... A lazy day. Watched another DVD (see "Great Moments..." following this to see what one. And slept. And had a chat with Viki on MSN tonight.

And that's been my weekend. I've got an appointment at the Citizens Advice Bureau tomorrow morning, and then I guess my fate is to be in the shop for the rest of the day (so no sneaky blogging or SN postings, alas)...

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Tuesday, Wednesday...

Tuesday was one of those days again... mainly due to the fact our shop girl was still off with a gammy foot. So I was down at the shop to open up... then when the boss' wife came in, I was up at the office for a couple of hours to do the banking and the wages... then I had to be back down at the shop again for 3pm to let her go and pick up the kids. Finished my day down at the shop, feeling my nerves getting a little more frayed every time the shop bell rang...

6pm I had an appointment with my counsellor... which went fine.

Came from there just after 7pm and went to get chips for tea. Phoned a taxi when I was in the chip shop, and told them to come in 5 minutes (by which time my onion rings would be ready). Got my chips, and went outside to stand for a minute in the rain... which stretched to 15 minutes at least. Phoned the taxi company again (after watching their cars drive by at least 6 times) and said "Where's the taxi I asked for?"... Their reply? "Oh, we drove past, but there was nobody there." (Damned invisibility cloak... I forgot I had it on).

So I waited another 10 minutes before they finally came, and I got home with my chips. By this time it was nearly 8pm and I was soaked to the skin, and well pissed off. Stuck my chips in the oven for a while to warm them up again... but it was a while too long, or else too hot, because my chips were pretty hard and my onion rings were burnt.

Cuddled down under my blanket and fell asleep... only to waken up about 3am, with the cats out in the rain (and I'm ashamed to say I didn't get up and let them in... I just went back to sleep again)... So I suppose I had no one to blame but myself when a couple of very pissed off cats came in this morning and both tried to dry themselves all over my ankles!

Today started off on a similar crap footing... got up just after 8am and went to wash my hair before college (because it had gone like straw after being rained on last night). In my hurry, I managed to fill one ear full of water, so I spent half the day deaf in one lughole!

College was just the usual... It's something like 3 weeks to my exam now, and I am seriously bricking it - everyone else knows everything, and I'm still utterly clueless...

While at college, I got a text from the boss - "Shopgirl's not in today yet, can you do the shop after college?" - So just after 12o'clock, I grabbed something for dinner, and the rest of the day was spent in that fucking shop again. And, get this, shopgirl's now not going to be back until Monday at least, because the doctor she saw on Monday didn't bandage her foot, and it's not getting better. So she's on crutches for the next couple of days, and we're having to fill in for her (I get a day off from the shop tomorrow though, because it's the end of the month, and there's suppliers to pay and things like that)... but I suspect I'll have a day of it again on Friday.

And boss remembered today that our Saturday girl's last day was last Saturday, and that we didn't actually have anyone sorted to do this Saturday coming up! So muggins is in the shop Saturday as well - oh joy, oh bliss, oh rapture(!)

Watched the launch of Big Brother tonight - and it'll be the last I watch of it. All women (what a fucking stupid idea), and what a bunch of wannabes, bimbos and twats! Do us a favour, Channel 4, and drop a bomb on that house right now.

Sorry... can you tell I've had a bad day?

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Tuesday...

started badly, and didn't really get an awful lot better...

My introduction to the day was my peedie cat, Minnie, meowing at 50 decibels to be let out (she didn't want to go out at bedtime as she usually does - my cats are vampires... both prefer to do their wandering around outside during the hours of darkness). Squinted at the clock and saw "07:10" looking back at me - too early to get up, too late to go back to sleep.

So I stumbled to the back door to let her out, and in came Harriet... Spent my last 45 minutes or so in bed trying to fight off a cat who wanted a cuddle.

Cutting things really finely, I stayed in bed until half past 8, because I was really shattered. Got up, and was getting ready for work when my phone beeped... It was a text from the boss - "The shopgirl's got a migraine and she's not coming in. Can you cover the shop this morning at least, and she might be in later?"

Reminded him at this juncture that I had to do the wages, and they had to be faxed to the bank before 2pm... and they have to be done at the office.

So, my routine for the rest of the day at work was... shop til 1pm, then up to office to do the wages, then back down to the shop for the rest of the day. And this is the way summer's going to go... especially when the school holidays are on, coz then the boss' wife probably won't be in at all...

Down with my brother for dinner tonight... Well, I went to visit him after work, and he was cooking chicken. It was so good... I don't tend to bother with things like that, because it's no point doing a major cooking like that just for one person. So I usually just stick something in the microwave or bung a couple of tuna steaks in the oven (I really love proper tuna... not that muck out of tins) and have them with oven chips or something. Sometimes it's good to be reminded what proper food tastes like though.

College tomorrow morning again... It's getting dangerously close to exam time (18th June) and there's no way I'm going to pass it. I'm not being defeatist... I'm being realistic.

Then after work I've got an appointment with the counsellor I was seeing last year again. I kind of got out of the way of going when I was away with Dad and when I came home, I just never got back into the way... until they "closed" my case. But now it's re-opened. I'm a bit apprehensive again... Hope it'll be okay.

Well, beddy-byes time now... Goodnight... x

Mo(a)nday...

Well, despite all my vain hopes, the boss didn't phone me this morning and say "Guess what? You can have the day off after all... I was only joking!"

So, after a horrendously poor sleep (as I said, I'm feeling really down at the moment, and it's messing up my sleep patterns) I walked down to the shop (economising until payday, seeing as the bank have helped themselves to whatever money I had "spare" this week), heels still sore, back still sore, tired, and feeling not entirely "there". Managed to grab an extremely large coffee from Starbucks and a bacon roll on the way to see if that would make me feel more human.

And was I rushed off my feet in the shop? Was it full of people who had ventured out on a Bank Holiday, desperate to spend their hard-earned pennies on pencils and ink cartridges? Was it fuck as like! By the time 1pm rolled around, the boss told me to close. But was I allowed to go and enjoy the sunshine (which is back today since I'm working again... typical)? No... I had to come up to the office and spend the afternoon typing in stock take figures.

Walked up to the office (still economising... the coffee this morning wasn't an extravagance, it was an emergency, and the reason for the two walks... so I could afford it), but it's still not made me feel any better... I want to cry... I want to scream... my head doesn't hurt exactly, but it feels like it's in a vice... It's very hard to be civil to anyone... even my joints all hurt... and I just want to sleep...

Happy Bank Holiday everyone!

The Weekend...

Saturday was spent in the shop, while the sun was shining, and everyone was telling me how lovely a day it was out there and what a shame it was for me stuck in the shop (yes, thank you... I know...). Oh, and all that with shredded heels because the shoes I thought were broken in weren't).

Then to do some shopping (how to do a week's shopping with only £20... thanks, bank) and home, where I managed to stay awake long enough to watch Parky, but fell asleep watching Most Haunted: Live.

Sunday (my one day off) was shit - the weather was windy, rainy and generally crap... then add to that the fact I wasn't feeling too good - my heels were still sore, the arches of my feet were sore, because the shoes I wore were flat and I'm used to shoes with a bit of a heel, my back was murder because I must have slept in a twist, and I'm generally a bit low at the moment... all I wanted to do was sleep - 3 times I started to watch various programmes only to fall asleep in the middle of them.

And then when I tried to go to sleep Sunday night, my bloody peedie cat kept leaping on top of me and miaowing in my face!
